AI Agents for Humans

Independent books on working with AIOctober 2026

AI can do more of the work. Three jobs stay yours.

Four independent books by Pranav S. about deciding what to build, checking that it’s right and answering for it.

The idea

One idea, four readers.

AI can do more and more of the work, but three jobs stay yours. Each book takes those jobs to a different reader: the developer, the person who doesn’t code, the tech lead, and anyone asking what their work is worth.

  1. i.

    Decide

what to build, and whether AI should build it at all.

  2. ii.

    Check

that it’s right, with proof you can show someone else.

  3. iii.

    Answer for it

when it’s wrong, because a person still owns the result.

The books

Four books, each written for a different seat at the table.

Which one

Start with the question you’re asking.

The author

Pranav S. is an independent author who writes about working with AI: two practical guides to Claude Code, a vendor-neutral guide to AI agents for tech leads, and a book about what stays valuable when answers get cheap.

The products, settings and published sources in each book were checked as of October 2026.

Questions

Before you buy.

Are these books affiliated with an AI company?
No. All four are independent. Shipping with Claude Code and Claude Code for Non-Coders are unofficial guides, checked against Anthropic’s public documentation and not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. AI Agents for Humans is vendor-neutral, and The Expensive Things recommends no product.
Which book should I get?
If you write code and want to get more from Claude Code, get Shipping with Claude Code. If you don’t write code and want to build tools in the Claude desktop app, get Claude Code for Non-Coders. If you lead a team deciding whether to use, buy or build an AI agent, get AI Agents for Humans. If you want the bigger picture of what stays valuable as AI makes answers cheap, get The Expensive Things.
What’s in the bundle?
All four complete books in one purchase, including the companion files for AI Agents for Humans and Shipping with Claude Code, and the EPUB edition of The Expensive Things. Each copy is for one reader.
Do I need a paid Claude plan?
Only to follow along with the two Claude Code books: Claude Code isn’t part of the free Claude plan, and Chapter 2 of each book walks through the options. AI Agents for Humans and The Expensive Things don’t need any particular product.
How are the books delivered?
As PDFs with clickable bookmarks, designed to read well on a laptop, tablet or phone, and The Expensive Things as an EPUB for e-readers too. Dodo Payments emails you a download link as soon as your payment goes through, and you can download the files again any time from its customer portal.
Can I pay in my own currency?
Yes. Prices on this site are in USD. At checkout, Dodo Payments lets you choose your local currency and converts the price at the live exchange rate.
What if it isn’t for me?
Ask for a refund within 30 days of buying and you’ll get your money back. See the refund policy for details.
